WHAT IS AN AMF PACKAGED FLOTATION UNIT

The AMF Flotation Unit STEEL.COM is designed for the removal of suspended solids or water immiscible liquids from process or wastewaters to produce an effluent of high clarity and free of objectionable particles or liquid. The AMF Flotation Unit may be employed for pre-treatment of industrial wastewater before discharge into sanitary sewers or to provide an effluent suitable for discharge into a receiving stream. Dissolved air flotation is best applied to remove materials that normally settle slowly, persist in remaining in suspension or have a tendency to float.
The specially designed influent chamber provides complete mixing of the influent and pressurized flow within the flotation unit.

When chemical flotation aids are required, they are blended in the on-line flocculator.
The backpressure control valve is designed to release the pressure from the pressurized stream inside the mixing chamber of the flotation unit. This prevents loss of operational efficiency due to coalescence of air bubbles in external piping and fittings.
The tank construction is in stainless steel as the other mechanical equipments with liquid contacts.
The correct size and pressure system for the flow rate in operation is selected for each application. The exclusive pressurization system design assures the minimum amount of pressurized flow, thus reducing initial and operational cost.
The wide skimmer speed variation, coupled with adjustable water levels assures maximum allowable control of float removal.
Bottom storage sumps is provided for positive removal of non-floatable materials.
Prefabricated and packaged AMF units are shipped disassembled requiring a minimum of field erection.
